Texas set the tone early, taking a 15-point lead in the first 10 minutes of play. The Longhorns' defense was suffocating, holding Kansas State to just 20% shooting from the field. Offensively, Texas was led by Tyrese Hunter, who had 18 points and 6 assists.

In the second half, Texas continued to pour it on. The Longhorns outscored Kansas State 46-30, extending their lead to 29 points. Marcus Carr and Timmy Allen both had 15 points for Texas, while Dillon Mitchell added 10.

Texas' defense was once again the key to victory. The Longhorns held Kansas State to 30% shooting from the field and forced 14 turnovers.

"Our defense was exceptional today," said Texas head coach Chris Beard. "We set the tone early and never let up. I'm proud of our guys for their effort and execution."

With the win, Texas improves to 11-1 on the season and 1-0 in Big 12 play. The Longhorns will next face No. 14 Baylor in Waco on Wednesday.

Kansas State drops to 7-5 on the season with the loss. The Wildcats will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they host Oklahoma.
