RedRaiderSports: Texas Tech Red Raiders Football & Basketball Recruiting
Coach Joey McGuire and his staff have made significant strides in rebuilding the Red Raiders' defense. In the 2023 class, Tech secured commitments from five-star linebacker Derick Hall Jr. and four-star defensive tackle De'kelvion Beamon. Additionally, they added several other top-100 defenders to their roster.
The Red Raiders' basketball program has also made waves on the recruiting trail. Coach Mark Adams has added a trio of elite backcourt prospects to his squad: five-star guard Tyrese Huggins, four-star guard Billy Dee Williams, and four-star guard Marcus Williams.
"Texas Tech's recent recruiting success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the coaching staff," said ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit. "They have assembled a group of talented athletes with the potential to make a major impact on the field and court."
The Red Raiders' success in recruiting is not a coincidence. Coach McGuire has a proven track record of developing elite defenses at Baylor, while Coach Adams has strong ties to the Houston area, one of the nation's top basketball hotbeds.
With the 2023 recruiting cycle nearing its end, Texas Tech is well-positioned to continue its upward trajectory in both football and basketball. The Red Raiders have the talent and coaching to compete for conference championships and national recognition.
As the 2023-24 season approaches, all eyes will be on Coach McGuire and Coach Adams to see if they can translate their recruiting success into on-field and on-court victories.
