AMBER Alert Issued For Two Children Out Of LaBelle
The children, 4-year-old Emily Johnson and 2-year-old Ethan Johnson, were last seen at their home in LaBelle on November 9 at approximately 8:00 pm. They were reportedly taken by their mother, 32-year-old Sarah Jones, who does not have legal custody.
The FDLE, LaBelle Police Department, and the Hendry County Sheriff's Office are actively searching for the children and the suspect. The FBI has also been notified.
"We are doing everything we can to find these children and bring them home safely," said LaBelle Police Chief Robert Jenkins. "We urge the public to be vigilant and to call us immediately if they have any information."
Sarah Jones had a history of domestic violence with the children's father. She had previously threatened to take the children and flee.
The children are considered endangered because they may not be receiving proper care and are at risk of harm. They may also be with other individuals who pose a threat to their well-being.
As the search continues, the authorities are working with local and state agencies to coordinate efforts. They are also asking for the public's assistance in locating the children and the suspect.
