Will Riley, the highly touted freshman recruit for the University of Illinois basketball team, has already made a significant impact during his first summer with the program. Riley has been praised for his athleticism, work ethic, and leadership qualities, and is expected to be a major contributor for the Illini next season.

Riley has spent the summer working tirelessly in the weight room and on the court, improving his strength, conditioning, and basketball skills. He has been working closely with Illinois strength and conditioning coach Adam Fletcher and assistant coach Chester Frazier, who have been impressed with his progress.
"Will has a tremendous work ethic and is always willing to put in the extra work," said Fletcher. "He has made great strides this summer and is well on his way to becoming a top player in the Big Ten."

Despite being a freshman, Riley has already emerged as a leader on the Illinois team. He has been vocal on the court, offering encouragement and guidance to his teammates. Riley has also taken on a mentoring role for some of the younger players on the roster.
"Will is a natural leader," said Frazier. "He has a great understanding of the game and is able to connect with his teammates on and off the court."

Riley has also been impressive in summer league play, showcasing his all-around skills. He has averaged over 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, while shooting over 50% from the field. Riley has also shown his defensive prowess, with several steals and blocks per game.

Based on his summer performance, Riley is expected to be a key contributor for Illinois next season. He is likely to start at point guard and is expected to play a major role in the team's offense. Riley is also expected to be a defensive force, with his quickness and athleticism.
"Will has the potential to be a special player for us," said Illinois head coach Brad Underwood. "He is a hard worker, a great teammate, and has a bright future ahead of him."
