The college football community is mourning the loss of Medrick Bennett Jr., a starting offensive lineman for Alabama A&M University. Bennett was found unresponsive in his off-campus apartment on Tuesday, January 17th, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is still under investigation.
A Rising Star
Bennett, a redshirt freshman, was a highly touted recruit out of high school. He quickly became a starter for the Bulldogs and was expected to be a key part of the team's success in the upcoming season. Bennett's coach, Connell Maynor, described him as "a great kid with a bright future."
